- Barque Renown wrecked after it landed in Cape de Verd Islands, passengers were transferred to Barque Jane of Massachusetts to continue voyage on to Liberia. Original ship list says sailed from Norfolk on 17 Jun 1843, annual report says she sailed from New Orleans on 9 May 1843
